CoreFactor is searching for a Payroll Clerk for a client in the GTA.
This is a twelve (12) month contract and the position is hybrid, requiring the successful incumbent to be in the office two (2) – three (3) times per week.
Position Overview:
As a member of the payroll team, and reporting to the Associate Manager, Payroll & Accounting , the Payroll Clerk is responsible for assisting bi –weekly payroll process and providing various administrative tasks to payroll team as required.
Responsibilities:
Liaise closely with HR to ensure supporting documents and input to the payroll system is complete and accurate
Process payroll for salary and hourly employee, including new hires, rate change, employee benefits, etc
Review and ensure bi – weekly employee timecards for accuracy and approval
Prepare bi-weekly RRSP remittance report
Preparing EHT reconciliation and monthly WSIB payment, assist on yearly EHT and WSIB reconciliations
Prepare payroll and employee benefits information for programs on a monthly basis
Review and compile documents from Accounts Payable for T4A on a monthly basis
Prepare withholding remittance report on a quarterly basis
Respond to employee inquires relating to payroll, vacation, sick time, benefits, etc
Provide payroll information for management as assigned
Assist in payroll year end reconciliations and the distribution of T4 /T4 A slips
Assist in audits- scanning and generating employee related reports
Perform other work within the job band as assigned
Requirements
Post-secondary degree or diploma from University or College in Business or Accounting
Pursuing Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is preferred
Minimum 1 year’s experience working with payrolls
Advanced in Microsoft Excel, and intermediate skills in Word & Adobe
Experience in PAYWORKS considered a strong asset
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skill
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
High accuracy and attention to details
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
