Job Description SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Process Development Inventory Lab Support Technician will support the operation of the Process Development and the GMP cell banking laboratories by performing equipment calibrations, ordering reagents and consumables, cleaning, preparing solutions, and maintaining instrumentation. This position will be responsible for working with procurement to order reagents, consumables, and supplies required for ongoing and future PD experiments. This position will be responsible for inventory control and organizing vendor maintenance activities on instrumentation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform support activities in the PD lab, including chemical inventory management, ordering, receiving, warehouse management, generic solution preparation, organizing and assisting with instrument calibrations. Clean laboratories and/or GMP areas including equipment, walls, ceilings, and floors, and work in a controlled environment with adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Clean and organize equipment and work area. Support lab organization (5S and inventory), and calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Ensure the correct labeling of reagents and instrumentation in the PD laboratory. Perform environmental monitoring of GMP cleanrooms. Assist in cell banking operations. Adhering to BIOVECTRA’s Health and Safety Policy as outlined in CP0010 Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Statements of Principle, and Responsibilities. Accurately record experimental data in accordance with BIOVECTRA’s data integrity policy CP0011. Complying with approved safety practices for the laboratory facility. Qualifications Education: High School diploma or equivalency. Post-Secondary diploma in Biotechnology or similar field is an asset. 1-2+ years' experience in a warehouse or inventory support role. FDA, GMP or regulated environment a plus. 1+ years of equipment calibration a plus. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Ability to follow instructions and written protocols; accurately record experimental data. Attention to detail. Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and report any issues. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. Teamwork, problem solving and ownership mindset. WORK CONDITIONS: Ability to work flexible/extended hours, periodically, as dictated by process needs. Occasional shift work may be required. Ability and willingness to work after hours and on weekends if required. Overtime as required. Heavy lifting occasionally required (up to 20 kg). Using a respirator is required. Ability and willingness to work with potent compounds and following all safety precautions and protocols. Additional Details This job has a full time weekly schedule. The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $16.11 - $28.20/hr CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
