Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on all trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and any other company-owned equipment in accordance with all federal, state, and local legal and regulatory agencies (includes all state-required inspections and frequencies)
Conduct all levels of preventive maintenance functions, such as regular servicing of trailers. Including trailer repairs and equipment inspections.
Electrical diagnostics, repair, and replacement.
Utilize the company’s maintenance system to create/maintain/complete work orders and vehicle maintenance records.
Lead and/or assist with the physical parts purchasing, inventory, receiving, and proper charge out of parts to work orders
Performs general cleaning and repair duties
Requirements:
4 years of experience in fleet trailer maintenance and repair (up to 2 years can be credited for technical training/schooling)
Knowledge and understanding of FMCSRs and DOT Compliance
Air brake certification
Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers
The technician must provide all hand tools (1/2” drive or under) necessary to perform maintenance. The company will provide diagnostic equipment, major shop tools, and a secure toolbox.
ASE certification preferred (not required)
Current valid driver's license (CDL Class A preferred but not required)
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
Ability to work outside in inclement weather conditions
High school diploma or equivalent required
