The Manager, Business Development is accountable for providing leadership for strategic projects and initiatives that are aligned with VHA’s strategic priorities and business growth strategy. As a member of the leadership team for the Strategic Solutions & Partnerships department, the Manager of Business Development will be heavily involved in external projects aligned to integrated care, innovative home care delivery models, while staying aligned to VHA’s Vision 2025, business growth strategy and strategic priorities. The incumbent will be heavily involved in exploring, incubating, presenting on, and implementing new business ideas and development of them, as directed by the organization’s strategic plan and priorities. They will also collaborate with colleagues across all departments at VHA in identifying, planning, implementing, and evaluating new venture opportunities. In this role, there will be a strong focus on collaborating with both local health system partners and working as ‘one team’ with other leaders at VHA. The Manager of Business Development will use project management best practices to drive key initiatives and interact with senior leaders across VHA in a variety of forums including committees, project implementation and working groups as assigned. This role will enhance the reputation of its department and organization consistent with VHA’s vision, mission and core beliefs of services as well as building and supporting sustainable and productive public relations with clients and VHA staff and partners. #INVHACorp #LI-VHA We are seeking a Manager, Business Development 15-month Contract, Full-time Key Areas of Accountability: Contributes to the development of the SS&P department’s operating plan as it relates to projects to meet key deliverables in alignment with VHA’s vision, mission and core beliefs Works cross-functionally with stakeholders to promote alignment and coordination of shared priority work streams Builds positive working relationships with partners, and influences decision-making and adoption of change initiatives Develops and monitors budget as appropriate and operating plans for new and current projects Participates in the development of Request for Proposal/Service/Expression of Interest Proposals as appropriate In collaboration with VHA leaders, this role facilitates the development of a new business development strategy that will enhance the provision of current services and the development of future business opportunities that are consistent with VHA’s core purpose and strategic plan Leads and coordinates committee meetings at VHA as needed. Creates and maintains VHA’s internal, electronic business development hub on a regular basis Establishes and maintains a comprehensive, ongoing BD project inventory Identifies operational improvement opportunities by monitoring and measuring the organization’s performance in BD projects Strengthen processes and communications related to BD engagement with internal and external stakeholders Designs and implements various care delivery models to organization departments Provides clinical knowledge, support, and supervision for VHA staff assigned to new business development-related and integrated care initiatives Assists in various organization-wide quality improvement/risk management initiatives Functions as a member of the organization’s Manager On-Call Team, handling crisis calls from clients, families, service providers and referring/partner agencies Key skills, experience and behaviors required for this position: Relevant university degree (Masters recommended) in related health care discipline, Health Administration or Business Administration, preferred Minimum of 3 years progressive leadership responsibility in change management, preferably in home and community health Proven project / program / strategy / change management experiences establishing and delivering complex projects related to business development and new business opportunities Knowledge and experience in home care, hospital, and charitable community support sectors Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity Ability to prioritize and self-direct while staying innovative and creative with sound business judgment and integrity Experience working with business intelligence and data Creates a mutually respectful, motivating, and supportive environment for open communication with colleagues Displays a professional, positive, results-oriented attitude and maintains enthusiasm Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking/presentations Solid influencing skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to both detail and the “big picture” Ability to work effectively with little or no supervision, minimal direction, and frequent interruptions Demonstrated skills in financial, human resources, and relationship management Demonstrated client-centered and customer-focused philosophy A clear commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism High degree of computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications; proficiency in commonly used virtual platforms and tools in healthcare (Zoom, Outlook, MS Teams, Mural) Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle Flexibility to travel occasionally Availability for on-call work What makes VHA’s compensation unique?
