SEE YOURSELF AT TWILIO
JOIN THE TEAM AS TWILIO’S NEXT SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER - BILLING
ABOUT THE JOB
We’re seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead Billing Platform products. Our
Billing platform enables customers to choose between pre-committed contracts,
subscriptions, or pay-as-you-go models.
This role will drive the billing strategy, roadmap, and execution of the billing
platform. The focus will be to ensure that Twilio’s billing systems
are scalable, flexible, and compliant, while unlocking growth. You will work
with cross-functional teams to drive large-scale changes in how customers
consume Twilio products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you’ll:
-
Own the product strategy and roadmap for all payments and billing
infrastructure—subscription lifecycle, transaction flows, pay-as-you-go and
invoiced customers, compliance, and more.
-
Partner with engineering to define product specifications, design features,
and deliver new functionality to customers.
-
Drive cross-functional execution across Finance, Risk, GTM, Engineering, and
third-party vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and user-friendly systems.
-
Define and deliver against outcomes—with a strong focus on metrics, speed,
and business impact.
-
Partner across Technical Program Management, IT, Finance, Legal, and Support
teams to ensure successful go-to-market for new product initiatives.
-
Iterate on the core billing and payments infrastructure in partnership with
Finance, Sales, Support, and Engineering—balancing business needs with
long-term platform scalability.
-
Drive planning and prioritization, define and track key metrics, and work
closely with engineers to define feature functionality and execute against
the roadmap.
-
Engage with external customers and internal partner teams to gather product
requirements and feedback through discussions, presentations, and preview
programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Twilio values diverse experiences from all kinds of industries, and we encourage
everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. If your career is just
starting or hasn’t followed a traditional path, don’t let that stop you from
considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who bring something new to
the table!
REQUIRED:
-
8+ years of product management experience, ideally with billing/payment
platforms for cloud products or services.
-
Passion and ability to decompose ambiguous problem areas, strong analytical
skills, technical depth, and a customer-focused mindset.
-
Track record of delivering high-impact features from vision to specification
to launch, and managing multiple simultaneous projects across complex,
cross-functional products at scale.
-
High ownership mindset: You bring urgency, challenge blockers, and know when
to escalate or hold the line.
-
Deep payments fluency: You understand the strategy, incentives, and mechanics
behind billing and payments—not just the technical components.
-
Vendor leadership: You’ve driven strategic outcomes with partners like
Stripe, Zuora, tax tools, and compliance systems.
-
An excellent communicator with experience presenting to cross-functional
stakeholders.
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
-
Maintain industry knowledge and enhance subject matter expertise, identify
trends and changes in client and competitor behaviors, and stay current with
evolving regulatory requirements.
DESIRED:
-
Have deep user empathy for both internal and external customers.
-
You're an excellent verbal and written communicator—able to zoom in and out
effortlessly based on your audience. You can rally and motivate a team behind
a bold vision.
-
Have an affinity for the fast-paced, changing environment of a startup, along
with a sense of humor and a get-it-done personality.
