ABOUT THE ROLE
DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a confidential project.
Over the past twelve months, the Platform Innovation team, within the Launch Pad
organization, has found strong momentum with an emerging product. This year,
we’ve assembled a strong cross-functional, entrepreneurial team (lead Designer,
lead Product Manager, and General Manager) to take the product to the next level
– all that’s left is to hire an engineering leader. We're looking for a leader
locally based in Toronto who can commute to the office upon hire.

- Lead and grow a team of exceptional backend and client-side engineers
delivering end-to-end engineering solutions
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to
determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that
roadmap
- Navigate ambiguity in a fast-changing business environment
- Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 9+
- Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies,
and outside-of-the-box thinking
- Oversee the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to
grow a diverse and inclusive team
WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE…
- BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams
(backend, web, & mobile) of 8+ engineers
- 8+ years of industry experience
- Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused
development environment
- Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance
optimization
- Familiarity with Android app development best practices
- Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition
- Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback
- Growth mindset - you're eager to expand your skill set and excited to carve
out your career path in a hyper-growth setting
- Adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in ambiguity - things can
change quickly, and you'll need to help the team evolve
