Priority Patient Transfer Service is hiring an Operations Manager for our Non Emergency Medical Transport division In Ottawa, Ontario.
Your Role:
Reporting directly to the General Manager, Priority Patient Transfer, the Operations Manager is responsible for the day to day activity of two main locations, Ottawa and Kingston. The Operations Manager will track Key Performance Indicators, be the first point of contact for the customer, ensure efficiency and effectiveness and provide leadership and direction to operations team in each location.
Primary Responsibilities
- People Management
Directs the activities of staff, ensuring ongoing work quality, monitoring workloads and ensuring activities continue to be managed during staff vacation/sick leaves
Monitors performance of staff, providing work direction, coaching and feedback, determining methods and procedures to be used, resolving problems, identifying opportunities for development and training and providing performance review input
Monitors employee engagement and implements process for improvement
- Operations
Monitors recruitment requirements based on call volumes
Reports incidents and collisions to Health and Safety
Promotes safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending safety meetings and meeting with individual staff members
Conducts walk-about at client facilities
Conduct investigations in cooperation with governing agencies to determine causes of any concerns
Ensure operating costs are within annual budget
- Vehicle Reporting
Reports maintenance requirements to the garage
Ensures efficient vehicle utilization
- Customer Service
Conducts regular customer review meetings
Makes sure the client experience is being held to the highest of standards while increasing customer satisfaction and engagement;
Delivers quality customer service and recommends operational improvements when needed·
Monitor Contract KPI’s to ensure performance is compliant with contract standards
Your Profile:
You posses a University/College Degree or Equivalent
You bring minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience in the transportation industry, health care industry or any related field
Your experience in non-emergency patient transportation preferred
Your experience with Healthcare Accreditation Process preferred
You posses experience with Healthcare IPAC compliance management
You bring experience in budgeting and P&L management
Your valid FR or equivalent certification would be an asset along with current First Aid/CPR or BLS certification
You can provide a copy of your current immunization records and are willing to acquire any outstanding vaccinations required for the role *note Covid -19 minimum 2 doses is required for this position
You bring excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
You posses effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
You are available to work flexible hours, including outside regular business hours
You posses strong knowledge in all Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI)
You are comfortable presenting in front of the group
You posses a clean Drivers Abstract and Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector
You have proven excellent customer service experience
You have strong planning and time management skills and the ability to effectively handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
You have excellent leadership skills
You have the ability to manage stress under tight deadlines
You possess a minimum full G class drivers licence
You must be willing to travel between all base locations in the Ottawa to Kingston region and surrounding areas as required.
