Westcorp is seeking a capable Maintenance Technician for the Windsor Park Plaza and Windsor Park Lofts properties. The successful candidate is a front-line professional, providing excellent maintenance and customer service to the residents. This position may require some extra hours from time to time, particularly at month-end, so the ability to work some weekends is required.

You possess excellent maintenance repair abilities in plumbing, basic electrical, and other general maintenance areas of expertise.

Primary Key Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance in the assets assigned, including heating repairs, sink backups or drain problems, faucet repairs, door repairs, caulking, etc.
Perform predictive and preventative maintenance and regular building checks as required.
Check and replace lights throughout the complex.
Change locks and cut keys.
Perform maintenance as required for suite turnover.
Track inventory of parts, supplies, and small tools.
Assist in snow removal for the complex when required (in heavy snowfall situations).
Participate in regular rotational on-call services.
Assist personnel from other Westcorp departments as required.
Execute all work safely and professionally in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.
Ensure compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act in all procedures.
Ensure local, provincial, & federal laws and regulations are observed in the community.
Ensure comprehension and compliance with all Westcorp Playbook policies.
Positively embrace Westcorp Corporate Values.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Required Skills and Abilities:
High School Graduate; Post Secondary Education an asset
Minimum three years of relevant maintenance experience required
Extensive knowledge of plumbing is required, and preference will be given to candidates with strong maintenance knowledge in other areas, such as electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairs
Must be proficient in the use of technology as we are working towards 100% paperless processes
Must have the flexibility to change roles/tasks as required and be available to work the hours that can be irregular as required for the business needs, and must participate in the on-call rotation
A high level of customer service-ability is a must as Westcorp is a highly service-oriented organization
A high degree of professionalism and dedication
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication ability in English
Must be physically fit with the ability to lift, carry or move heavy items
Safety conscience and safety-oriented attitude
Highly organized, results-oriented and with the ability to work in a multi-functional team environment
Must have own tools and safety footwear
Must have valid driver's license and own vehicle
Security clearance required upon offer of employment
