Position Summary
Reporting to the Research Manager, the Student Research Assistant will contribute as a member of the research team on a grant funded research project exploring the experiences of Black African immigrant entrepreneurs with training and development programs in Alberta's innovation ecosystem. The Student Research Assistant will work with their project research advisor to co-design a project in collaboration with multiple partner organizations, applying skills and knowledge to enhance the partners’ innovation activities. The funding for the position is provided by the federal government, through the College and Community Social Innovation Fund (CCSIF).
The successful candidate will be performing non-bargaining unit work as part of a student employment program implemented to create opportunities to gain work experience.
The successful candidate must be an active student at Bow Valley College.
Qualifications
High school diploma
Communication skills: written, spoken.
Presentation skills: design and presentation on PowerPoint
Project Management skills: strong ability to organize workflow of the project
Adaptability: ability to adjust to changing timelines and priorities
Teamwork: ability to work with and communicate with a diverse team
Research skills and experience, including knowledge of research ethics would be an asset
To be considered, the candidate must be a registered student at Bow Valley College or a recent (>2 years) graduate of an accredited college or university program
(18 hours per week, variable schedule)
