Swan Valley Co-op is hiring a full-time Assistant Grocery Manager at our Food Store location in Swan River, MB.

What you’ll do:
The successful candidate is responsible for supporting the Grocery Manager in managing and overseeing the operations of the Grocery Department. You will also assist in leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the Co-op team members.
Key responsibilities are, but not limited to, the following:
Demonstrate behaviours and actions that support Swan Valley Co-op's vision, mission, and values.
Proactively lead a culture of safety and maximize operational efficiency.
Assist with the activities and operations of the Grocery Department to achieve budgeted goals, including but not limited to ordering, merchandising, margins, expenses, culture, scheduling, and productivity.
Participate in the recruitment and selection of new team members, and assist in providing leadership through coaching, development and feedback.
Build strong customer relationships and deliver solutions, continually striving to improve retail guest services.
Set an example to other Team Members by strict adherence to personnel policies and departmental procedures.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

You have excellent customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
Post secondary education in a related field would be an asset.
You have previous retail management experience.
You are able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends, and can be available for calls after hours and for emergencies.
You are able to stand for long periods of time and can perform regular heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
You are willing to participate in personal development focusing on competencies required for the position.
