As a Senior Backend Developer I, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our backend systems. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall success of our company. This position is ideal for a fast learner with a solid foundation in computer science fundamentals who is looking to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with your team members, product and engineering leaders to design robust, scalable, and maintainable backend systems.
Analyze technical problems and business requirements, identify solutions, and effectively communicate your ideas to the team.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Identify and adopt software development best practices and processes that make sense for your development team; stay on top of updates, new releases, alternative software; recognize and continuously reduce technical debt.
Monitor and optimize backend performance and ensure the scalability and reliability of our systems.
Drive detailed project definition, technical design, cross-functional alignment, estimation, in addition to task break-down, delivery, monitoring, and maintenance.
Take an active role in growing the team, partner with your manager to improve the processes that support team development and efficiency.
What We Look For
5+ years of experience as a backend or full-slack software developer.
Solid CS fundamentals, proficiency in Go, TypeScript (must-have skills).
Experience with C++ is a plus.
Strong understanding of backend best practices and concepts, patterns, data structures, databases like Mongo, Firebase, Snowflake, observability best practices, experience with Datadog.
Experience building real-time, scalable web services, APIs, API integrations, ETL.
Familiarity with deploying infrastructure components on AWS, k8s.
Passion for working with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Business.
An enjoyment of new challenges, flexibility and ability to adapt to new, unforeseen situations, startup experience.

The salary band for this role is $130-150K
