Job Description: Reporting to the Senior Public Health Inspector (PHI) and the Manager of Public Health, the incumbent uses their knowledge and skills to enforce The Public Health Act, 1994 and The Tobacco Control Act with their associated regulations. Teamwork with Public Health Nurses under the Primary Health Care portfolio is vital. The PHI department works closely with departments in the SHA, community partners and other government agencies (municipal, provincial & federal levels) to provide excellent care to the people of Saskatchewan. The wide range of field duties of this position requires good independent judgment and risk assessment to ensure quality and safety for the public. The PHI is involved with promotion, education and enforcement of Communicable Disease including Rabies, plumbing and private sewage and water. Considerable travel is involved throughout the Southwest area. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"
