Job Number: JR103959 Job Title: Team Lead, Epic Department: EO ENHANCE Ontario - Outpatient Team Job Category: Professional Hospital Location: EO Head Office Job Type: Permanent, Full time Number of Positions: 1 Hours: Days Enabling Healthcare Across Networks of Central East (ENHANCE) Ontario (also referred to here as “EO”) is a not-for-profit corporate entity which will provide centralized IT services to its seven (7) member hospitals (Campbellford Memorial Hospital, Haliburton Highlands Health Services, Lakeridge health, Northumberland Hills Hospital, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Ross Memorial Hospital, and Scarborough Health Network) to manage and operate a set of shared digital assets. This will enable its 7 member hospitals across 14 sites to deliver high quality and safe patient care using the shared Epic Clinical Information System (“CIS”) to over 1.5 million patients residing in both rural and urban communities located in the Central East region of Ontario. Job Description: Position Overview: Epic Applications Team Leads are responsible for overseeing a team of analysts that provide ongoing maintenance and operations of their assigned applications including triaging and prioritizing issues, troubleshooting, break-fixes etc. with a goal to continue to enable and optimize workflows. Responsibilities: • Oversee the Cupid team for the day-to-day operational issues • Allocating workload distribution across the Cupid team • Managing and overseeing Cupid queue in the incident management system • Responsible for liaising with Epic Technical Support (TS) and escalating issues as appropriate • Support manager with day-to-day staffing and onboarding of new analysts • Responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, testing and resolving complex issues including, but not limited to, system errors, workflow gaps and configuration issues • Provides ongoing maintenance and support for assigned applications at an advanced to expert level • Collaborates extensively with Team Leads and analysts across the regional team on an ongoing basis • Participates and leads testing of application updates, enhancements, custom programming and new releases/quarterly upgrades • Support operational committees/workgroups with workflow design/optimization decision-making by highlighting system capabilities, limitations, risks etc. • Work with Principal Trainers/Credentialed Trainers to maintain training materials and content in sync with build updates • Reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership Requirements: • Demonstrated experience with leading change initiatives and managing projects with interdisciplinary teams • Previous Team Lead experience preferred • Previous build or operations experience with Epic® • Clinical experience with Nursing background or another clinical discipline (preferred) • Epic certification – Cupid (within 4 months of hire) • Minimum of 3 years of related clinical applications experience • Strong working knowledge of clinical systems and change management. Including development/design, implementation, user support & training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation. • Strong working knowledge of clinical systems and administrative departments, operations and core clinical/process workflows would be an asset Asset: • Ability to identify and communicate operational issues and drive the resolution of issues in an effective manner which also ensures high end user satisfaction • Ability to handle complex problems and provide highly innovative and creative solutions that will achieve high quality business/clinical outcomes • Strong understanding of workflows and procedures related to Analyst’s relevant clinical area Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to logically examine a problem and determine the root cause and course of action • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and stakeholders • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external stakeholders • Ability and willingness to learn new software, systems, and processes • Highly reliable, able to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles and work under time pressures Accommodation and Diversity Statement: Scarborough Health Network (SHN) embraces and celebrates our community’s unique multicultural heritage and diversity.
