Closing date: October 2, 2025 Our Technology Department is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled co-op student to support our documentation and governance efforts for eight months for the Winter & Summer 2026 (January to August) work terms. The Technology - Governance Co-op/Intern will work closely with our Technology Governance team to develop, refine, and maintain critical technical documentation. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Work under the supervision of the Governance & Administration team’s Analyst to assist with various projects Develop and draft comprehensive technology directives, procedures, and policies Research and synthesize complex technical information into clear, concise documentation Review and update existing technical documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance Assist in creating standardized templates for technical documentation Participate in documentation workflow and process improvement initiatives Support the technology governance team in maintaining documentation repositories Conduct internal reviews and gather feedback from technology teams Prepare summary reports and presentations on documentation projects Ad-hoc projects, technical writing and documentation tasks as assigned by team REQUIRED SKILLS Strong technical writing and communication skills Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Basic understanding of technology concepts and technology infrastructure Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Experience with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint) is a plus Knowledge of technical writing standards and best practices is an asset WHAT WE OFFER Work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment The development of real-world skills at one of the largest institutional investors in Canada Exposure to some of the most talented, approachable, and inspiring people in the industry The ability to opt-in for access to Dialogue, a user-friendly app that offers virtual primary care, employee and family services, and mental health supports Time to connect with co-op students & interns at BCI – build your network and shared learning Two paid days per year for volunteering Competitive pay: Mid / Back Office: $2,330.00 gross bi-weekly or $2,155.00 gross bi-weekly + vacation leave paid based on 6% of salary ($2,330.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) a graduate degree and $2,155.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate) Travel: if coming to Victoria for this work term, BCI will provide a fixed-rate travel allowance based on your location THE DETAILS Work term: Winter & Summer 2026 (January to August) Department: Technology Office Location: 750 Pandora Avenue, Victoria, BC Spend your off hours exploring beautiful Victoria and Vancouver Island All co-ops/internships will need to be completed in person at our Victoria office with the option to work one day per week from home.
