We are looking for a Safety Manager (Regions 1 & 2) to join our fast-paced, energetic company working out of any of those region’s locations (Shaunavon, Maple Creek, Swift Current, Kyle, Leader, Kindersley, Unity, North Battleford).
As Safety Manager you will play an essential role in building and supporting the safety programs/policies and culture in our Western locations. You will:
Direct and perform all facets of incident reporting, investigation, implement post-injury follow-up procedures, and prevention of incident recurrence
Maintain the company’s Health and Safety Program, ensuring all regulations are met
Conduct safety training and maintain records for forklift, overhead crane, operator, payloader, safety orientations, first aid, and other safety courses
Liaise with health and safety regulatory authorities (MSA, WCB), and assist Payroll (benefits) department with return-to-work processes
Monitor OH&S meetings and compliance
Provide reporting on health and safety activities, workplace injuries, implement corrective action, and develop preventative measures
Conduct comprehensive hazard assessments and formal site inspections, maintain site logs of inspections, infractions, and mitigating measures
Coordinate and track fire drills
Develop and maintain safety standard operating procedures
Collaborate with Human Capital and Training departments on business initiatives (safety training, onboarding, policies)
You have:
5+ years in a safety-related role
Ability to lead by example and motivate others
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Experience developing and presenting training materials
Knowledge/familiarity with ag industry or industrial setting
Diploma, degree, or certification in health and safety, Canadian Registered Safety Professional Designation preferred
Workplace Hazardous Material Information System certified
Occupational Health & Safety Practitioner is desired
Emergency Preparedness and first aid
Legislation/regulation knowledge within Saskatchewan and Manitoba
Knowledge of WCB processes, safe work practices for operation of equipment, site safety and housekeeping
Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed, valid driver’s license required
