Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Cargo and Ground Operations, the Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic is responsible to perform repairs, inspections, troubleshooting and overhauls, and maintain light, heavy and automotive equipment throughout the Operation.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Inspect equipment to ensure safe operation
Diagnose and repair all company equipment safely and according to specifications
Perform preventive maintenance as required
Maintain maintenance schedules and reporting in company software
Service test of repaired equipment to ensure that performance meets operational requirements
Repair, adjust and/or replace defective parts as required
Maintain an inventory of essential parts and supplies
Travel required to various sites within Manitoba and Ontario
Troubleshooting skills and ability to read manuals, drawings and schematics is essential
Travel to remote sites as necessary to facilitate and carry out repairs to company equipment within a timely manner
Coordinate and liaise with company contractors and vendors as required for maintenance and part inventory
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
Red Seal Certification in Diesel Engine Mechanic, Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Automotive Service Technician, or an equivalent trade
Must possess a valid driver’s licence
Minimum 3 years of experience
Previous experience in Heavy Duty, automotive or aviation considered an asset
Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
Must be able to qualify for and obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP)
Working Conditions
Physically able to perform all listed job duties
Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
Work performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions
Subject to stairs and heights
Handling supplies/parts that may be soiled with grease, oil and/or other chemicals
Consistent lifting and moving up to 50 lbs
Operation of loader/company vehicle when in airside in compliance with Winnipeg Airport Traffic Directives Rules and Regulations
