Position Summary:
The Solutions Engineering Manager: Strategic Programs & Accounts is a technical
industry expert responsible for driving adoption and growth of Miovision
solutions across strategic agency accounts while leading key programs that
deliver measurable revenue and operational impact.
In this role, the manager is embedded within the top 10 major North American
cities, providing solutions architecture guidance and technical consultation for
Smart City and ITS deployments. By integrating into the daily operations of
these agencies, the manager supports complex proof-of-concepts, pilot
initiatives, and ongoing projects to maximize product value and adoption. In
collaboration with product leaders, this role helps influence the product
roadmap, accelerate large deals, and ensure strategic integration of advanced
technologies, expanding the use of Miovision solutions beyond immediate
applications.
In addition to account leadership, the role includes significant program
management responsibilities. The manager oversees the Pilot Program, designing,
executing, and tracking initiatives that validate innovative solutions, generate
revenue, and build long-term adoption pipelines. The Spec’d In Program is also
under the manager’s direction, focusing on aligning Miovision solutions to
agency specifications, driving measurable pipeline growth, and creating
sustained revenue impact. Furthermore, the manager curates and maintains
demonstration materials, specifications, and product requests to ensure
standardized, customer-ready assets that accelerate adoption and support the
sales process.
By combining technical expertise, program leadership, and strategic customer
engagement, the Solution Engineering Manager plays a critical role in driving
adoption, expanding revenue, and advancing the evolution of smart city and ITS
infrastructure.
Key Accountabilities:
The Solution Engineering Manager: Strategic Programs & Accounts is a technical
industry expert responsible for driving adoption and growth of Miovision
solutions across strategic city agencies while overseeing key programs that
deliver measurable revenue and operational impact.
Direct Account Support – Key Responsibilities:
Key Account Management
This role provides dedicated sales and technical support to approximately ten
strategic accounts in collaboration with Focus Account Directors. The emphasis
is on building strong, trust-based relationships that drive adoption and
long-term growth.
Cross-Departmental Engagement
The position supports the full scope of city services, including Traffic,
Transit, Fire, Police, and related operations such as mobility and snow plow
management. A key responsibility is fostering collaboration across departments
to build cohesive, integrated city architectures that align with broader
municipal goals.
Technical Consultancy & Sales Support
A core function is to assess customer systems and tools, identify gaps, and
create actionable plans to bridge them. This includes providing recommendations
to help agencies transition from their current state to desired outcomes, while
also capturing product and feature needs that can shape future product design
priorities.
Solution Scoping & Design
Responsibilities include developing technical documentation, implementation
roadmaps, and integration strategies tailored to agency requirements. The role
continuously identifies opportunities for future integration with both Miovision
and third-party systems, ensuring cross-departmental collaboration and alignment
with project management for smooth execution.
Pilots & Product Demonstrations
The role leads the design, execution, and management of pilots and
demonstrations that showcase solution value and validate performance. These
initiatives provide agencies with proof of capability while supporting adoption
and long-term account development.
Product Approval & Specification Management
In partnership with the APL team, this position helps secure product approvals
and ensures agency ITS specifications are updated with Miovision’s Master
Specifications, supporting standardization and accelerating adoption.
Complex Issue Resolution & Customer Advocacy
The role serves as a critical point of escalation to resolve complex operational
and product-related challenges that could delay deployments or threaten
renewals. By liaising between customers, support, and product teams, it ensures
timely resolution and influences product improvements based on customer needs.
Proof of Value & Account Development
The position develops account plans that build strong customer advocates and
champions. It also supports case study development, customer references,
webinars, and account-based marketing activities, reinforcing Miovision’s value
and expanding account engagement.
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role carries direct program management duties, including coordinating
weekly team meetings, overseeing participation, and ensuring the timely review
and approval of developed materials. The focus is on maintaining structure,
accountability, and alignment across ongoing initiatives. These are the Major
initiatives that will take majority of focus:
Statement of Work (SoW) Development
A core responsibility is developing and maintaining standardized SoW templates
that ensure consistency across all projects and pilots. The role enforces
accountability for using SoWs, which enhances documentation maturity and
supports the adoption of well-defined technical architectures.
Pilot Program Management
This position designs, executes, and tracks pilot initiatives that validate
innovative solutions, create measurable revenue opportunities, and build
adoption pipelines. It also manages the pilot approval process, ensuring that
SoWs and project scopes are properly defined and aligned with organizational
standards.
“Spec’d In” Program Management
The role leads the Solutions Engineering (SE) team’s Spec’d In program by
aligning Miovision solutions with agency specifications and requirements. It
drives measurable pipeline and revenue growth by tracking approved deals and
ensuring program goals are consistently achieved.
Demonstration Materials
This responsibility focuses on creating and maintaining standardized,
customer-ready demonstration materials and specifications. Keeping these
resources up to date, accessible, and strategically aligned ensures strong
support for sales initiatives while driving long-term solution adoption.
Product Request Aggregation
This responsibility involves collecting, organizing, and prioritizing product
requests from customers and internal teams. By consolidating feedback into
clear, actionable insights, the role helps guide product development and ensures
solutions align with market needs.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalency or achievement of recognized
professional level
- 8+ years of technical experience; must understand network products
- Experience in traffic, transit, fire, and police systems technology would be
ideal.
- Ability to travel internationally, providing on-site consulting work to
clients
- Ability to manage multiple projects utilizing strong planning and
organizational skills
- Experience with general consulting skills that include team facilitation,
business case development, strong business analysis skills, process mapping
and process redesign
- Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and
detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management and
support
- Analytical nature with the ability to solve complex business issues
- Basic understanding of product development and engineering processes.
- Membership in Industry Groups (IMSA/ITSA/ITE/etc) preferred as well as
relevant industry Certifications
