Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Millwrights for a major mining construction project in western Nunavut. This is an exceptional long-term opportunity offering both temporary assignments and potential permanent placement with our client. Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment in mining operations
Perform mechanical installations including conveyors, crushers, mills, and processing equipment
Align and balance rotating equipment using precision measuring instruments
Troubleshoot mechanical systems and perform preventive maintenance
Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Collaborate with other trades on construction and maintenance projects
Ensure all work meets safety standards and mining regulations
Required Qualifications
Journeyman Millwright certification (Red Seal preferred)
Alberta-based candidates strongly preferred
Minimum 3-5 years industrial millwright experience
Mining or heavy industrial experience preferred
Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract
Ability to work in remote camp environments
Physical fitness for demanding work conditions
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Previous mining industry experience
Experience with large-scale industrial equipment
Welding certifications (advantage)
Additional safety certifications (H2S, First Aid, Confined Space, etc.)
Experience with precision alignment tools and techniques
Safety Requirements
H2S Alive certification
Standard First Aid/CPR
WHMIS training
Fall protection certification
Additional mining-specific safety training (provided if needed)
