Are YOU our next Clinical Laboratory Assistant?
Dynacare is currently searching for a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join the
Product and Service Development team in Brampton, Ontario. This is a full-time
position working Monday - Friday 8am to 4pm. This position is responsible for
retrieving, sorting, preparing, and extracting biological fluid samples for
routine analysis in the Product and Service Development (R&D lab). The position
will also involve reagent preparation, instrument/analyzer loading, and general
housekeeping duties.

- Retrieve and sort samples based on test /worksheets
- Ensure that all samples are properly labeled and identified before testing
- Follow established protocol for the safe handling of samples
- Perform testing on samples as per established procedures (SOP)
- Store and discard specimens and materials according to appropriate department
procedure manuals
- Prepare routine reagents as per established procedures (SOP)
- Follow Dynacare safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping
- Monitoring supplies and ensuring adequate quantities are maintained
- Consult with department manager to assist with non-routine problems,
troubleshooting or concerns
- Independently operate complex instruments following department procedures
- Maintain quality assurance records including results calculation verification
- Perform simple non-interpretive testing procedures independently
- Ensure that all abnormal, critical and STATS specimens are processed as
outlined in the department guidelines
- Responsible for the follow-up on missing samples, documentation and results
as and when required
- Ensure that quality control checks are performed as required in documented
work instructions
- Refer results to technologist for review if applicable
- Responsible for monitoring quality control guidelines and making appropriate
corrections
- Perform routine equipment maintenance following documented procedures
- Document all maintenance performed, including minor troubleshooting following
manufacturer’s instructions
- Observe and report all equipment malfunctions and maintain all records for
routine equipment maintenance
- Provide input to management on continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive topics as appropriate
What YOU bring to the role:
- Graduate of an approved laboratory assistant course or equivalent
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team centered
environment
