The Branch Manager plans, organizes, directs, and controls the daily operations of a dealership. This position is ultimately responsible for healthy workplace culture, profitability, supervision, efficiency and reputation of all Branch Operations as well as strategic input into the corporate business plan in their assigned AOR.

Responsibilities
P&L Responsibility of following Departments at Branch/ Dealership Level
- SALES
Account development and hand off to Sales Reps
Sales Personnel development/ training
Sales Forecasting /Planning and New Truck Order Management
Maximizing product mix of new and used inventory i.e. Stock what sells
Approve all Used Truck appraisals, acceptance, and timely lot readiness for sale
Overseeing and assisting outside and inside sales representatives, provide accountability to sales plans Review and approve all new & used sales orders
Review and approve all new order specs
Sign off and ensure completeness of all final sales paperwork
With approval of the VP of Sales or President manage a Maximum of 2 house sales accounts (if required). Facilitate over time all house sales account to an assigned sales representative.
Work with the VP of Sales or President for discounted COG in new truck sales, when required
- PARTS and SERVICE
Oversee both Parts and Service Managers
Ensure 100 % Capital utilization, Maximize Absorption rate
Deal with Customer Satisfaction issues in conjunction with Department managers
Develop and grow outside parts sales accounts
Develop and grow ongoing Service Contracts
Forecasting and ensuring month end close
Ensure safe workplace practices and compliance with company policies
- BUSINESS OFFICE (F & I)
Working with business office personnel, account management and set up of customer accounts
Encourage and promote to the Sales Team Finance Opportunities during new truck sale
Major work (engine) finance opportunities
Monthly review of Branch Accounts receivables and loan portfolio with credit manager
Assist Credit Manager with customer credit issues where required
Provide “local intelligence” where appropriate, especially to remote Credit Managers
Quarterly review of Finance / Insurance and Income Targets
Branch/Dealership Operations
- OPERATIONS
Prepare budgets, and business plans with the assistance of department managers for submission to Corporate Office
Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Plan advertising and trade show involvement
Analyze expenditures and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services
Pre-authorize major expenditures in Advertising contracts, equipment and vehicle purchases
Review and approve monthly commission statements and branch expense reports
Monitor Parts availability and obsolescence (CSI)
Review Service, Warranty and Parts reports including repair order closing, warranty receivables and accounts receivable for branch
Accountable for managing New Truck inventory at branch
Accountable for Used Truck inventory at assigned branch.
Conduct scheduled (weekly or monthly) department supervisor meetings to reinforce branch standards and procedures
Participate in monthly companywide Branch Manager meetings
Work with other Branch Managers for effective Policy requests and consideration
Ensure all operations are conducted in a manner that upholds and protects the integrity and reputation of the Branch, Company and Ownership
Provide oversight of facility and yard maintenance – ensuring clean, orderly facilities for both staff and customers. Communicate with landlords regarding any concerns.
Be familiar with Peterbilt Standards of Excellence program and strive to be in compliance as much as possible.
- STAFF MANAGEMENT
Foster a positive and communicative environment. Promotes health and safety.
Develop succession plans for all key department positions (New Truck Sales, Parts and Service Manager)
Maintain a minimum 90% compliance PACCAR / Peterbilt training requirements, across all departments (Sales, Service, Parts and administration)
Hiring, training, directing and motivating staff, identifying and resolving problems as they arise.
Conduct performance evaluations for all department supervisors and key personnel as scheduled.
Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
Review Line Managers employee timecards approvals for payroll processing
Review and approve vacation and leave requests
Ensure disciplinary actions, where required, are executed in fair, firm and consistent manners which comply with established company policies and Employment Standards Legislation.
3, CUSTOMERS
Strong Community and industry involvement
Willingness to sit on boards and communities within the industry
Work with Peterbilt Canada staff to satisfy customer complaints and/or product concerns
Fosters and promotes client development and customer service, process enhancement
Represent and promote the Company on all local community matters and insure that representation creates goodwill and promotes community economic development.
Willingness to make outside customer calls both individually and with staff/factory personnel
- VENDORS
Develop strong working relationships with truck component vendors; i.e. Cummins, Eaton, Dana, Meritor, Bridgestone, Michelin, etc. For staff training, product updates and customer satisfaction issues.
Develop strong working relationships with body builder dealers. Be familiar with integration of vocational bodies on the various Peterbilt chassis’.

Qualifications
10 years or more management experience in the trucking industry, preferably in both sales and fixed operations management.
Completion of post-secondary degree in business. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Compensation Rate
$120,000 - $145,000 annually + variable compensation
