Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office Job Description Business Title: Packaging Engineering Project Specialist – Co-Op Issue Date: 01.AUG.2025 Revision #: 1 Summary: Responsible for the design, modification, support, and improvement of packaging processes at the development, validation, and Commercial stages for assigned clients. Essential Functions: Writes and supports the generation of required Packaging Engineering documentation for Risk Assessments, Engineering Line Trials, and Reports for assigned clients. Works with clients in the development of master data for Serialization. Carries out Engineering Line Trials and Performance Qualifications for new packaging products. Lead and/or participate in problem solving for packaging activities, equipment and processes. Apply strong computer skills and knowledge to identify, propose and implement changes to solve technical or quality challenges related to the packaging process. Collaborate with Project Management, Business Management, Process Pharmacy, Technical Transfers, Validation, Planning, Materials Management, Analytical and other functional areas to meet project and team objectives. Participate in continuous improvement activities as needed. Perform alternating or rotating shifts as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Minimum College/Technical School diploma in Chemistry, Engineering or relevant technical field. BSc in Chemistry, Engineering or Pharmacy is an asset. Experience: Experience in packaging technical/scientific discussions with clients is an asset. Previous experience with SAP enterprise software to source information and navigate business operations is an asset. Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: General knowledge and understanding of drug packaging processes as well as drug product validation and commercialization processes. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrates organizational skills relevant to drug packaging. Strong written and oral communication skills. Detail oriented and organized, with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness. Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices. Ability to recommend improvements relating to pharmaceutical packaging, equipment, processes and systems. Established quality, regulatory, and production mentality including an appreciation for client service and the contract manufacturing industry. Works independently with minimal need for supervision. Advanced experiene in MS Word/Excel and demonstrated computer proficiency with other Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency with the English Language.
