In this role you will be responsible for the coordination of engineering activities and creation of documentation related to the design and construction of water slide projects. The Project Engineering Specialist will be the technical contact for multiple engineering projects and will interact with project managers, clients, sub-contractors, and consultants to deliver quality solutions on time and on budget.

YOUR CHALLENGE:
Design Track Support Plans optimized for water ride systems. Applying engineering best practices for cost management, ease of fabrication and installation.
Create Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing packages describing water ride requirements for coordination with Mechanical Pool Contractor.
Create bill of materials for fiberglass, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components
Review ride support structural drawing package.
Review ride support shop drawings for steel fabrication.
Create Architectural 3D model of track support plan for BIM modelling.
Prepare water ride assembly manual for installation crew.
Gather, prepare, and distribute all information pertaining to the Engineering drawings, including coordination with architects and engineers.
Gather and organize all information required for the implementation of contract scope of work.
Coordinate between design and engineering functions to ensure the design specifications and procedures are adhered to.
Follow up and verification of complete documents prior to sending to client, sub-contractors, manufacturers, etc.
Gather and prepare documents related to local authority reviews and approvals (CSEI, TUV, DAC, etc.).
Partake in local authority review and approval meetings.
Support Technical Advisors during installation phase.
Participate in Site Acceptance Tests and Ride Verification, as required.
Develop and propose new techniques and processes to improve productivity and efficiency.
WHAT YOUR BRING TO THE ROLE:
Bachelor’s Degree or Technologist Diploma in Engineering or Applied Science (Mechanical, Civil, Structural)
3+ years of work experience in the construction industry
Knowledge and experience working with design codes (Ontario Building Code or equivalent)
Membership with PEO or OACETT is considered an asset
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Enthusiasm for collaborative work as part of a team, but also able to work autonomously
Ability to meet deadlines coupled with strong time management and organizational skills
Willingness to work extra time as the need arises, or to assist the team to meet deadlines in the face of anticipated peak work volumes
Excellent communication skills
Experience with AutoCAD required, experience in 3-dimensional design an asset
Architectural/Civil/Structural design and surveying would be an asset
