Your Opportunity
Imagine being part of a dynamic team that designs innovative solutions for our diverse set of clients. Our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering (TPTE) group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services and we have an immediate opening for an intermediate transportation planner/engineer to be an integral part of our team. As a Transportation Planner/Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of transportation projects. While working as a technical team member, you may provide immediate supervision and guidance to junior employees, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals for accuracy and completeness, and maintaining tasks’ schedule and budget with high-level supervision of an assigned senior staff or the TPTE lead. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver who takes initiative with demonstrated knowledge and experience in engineering and planning projects, understanding of regulatory requirements, excellent communication skills including technical writing and presentation skills, and demonstrated experience with transportation planning, data analysis and modelling.
Your Key Responsibilities
Responsible for planning, conducting and coordinating technical aspects of assigned projects and tasks
Uses knowledge of the general and technical concepts of transportation planning, transportation modelling and traffic engineering
Conducts transportation planning and traffic analyses, with an emphasis on contributing in traffic engineering and transportation modelling capacity
Obtains traffic, GIS and land use data, prepares technical reports, performs calculations, and conducts various transportation studies
Coordinates with clients, regulatory/resource agencies, and local governments
Provides initial quality assurance and quality control for technical products to ensure technical accurateness and regulatory compliance
Prepares technical reports and memorandums for traffic impact studies, parking studies, transportation and transit planning studies, feasibility studies, environmental assessment studies and etc.
Assists in coordinating with clients/consultants in resolving technical project issues, presenting reports and designs, and providing service to meet client's goals
Performs due diligence and research on projects as required to provide the background information to start a new project
Assists with the preparation of proposals, project reporting and other marketing endeavors
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
