Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of building systems equipment and facilities in order to provide highly reliable utility support to the facility. Subject matter expert for the site on building systems equipment and facilities. Equipment includes Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), boilers, chillers, dust collectors, air compressors and purified water system. Shift schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM What will you do: Supervise, service, repair and maintain HVAC equipment in the plant in a timely fashion as required. Ensure/perform regular Preventive Maintenance (PMs) on all HVAC units. Review PM content and frequency to ensure regulatory/legislative compliance. Compile and maintain all information and documentation relevant to completed work; i.e. work orders, logbooks, drawings, etc. Determine impact of required work, communicate, co-ordinate and supervise major repairs with other facilities staff/contractors to minimize service interruption. Recommend and maintain inventory of spare parts to minimize any downtime on the system. Ensure all work is performed in full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and established safety standards. Maintain and service desiccant dryers, heating cooling coils, steam and humidity controls. Maintain pressure differential and humidity controls in plant. Service any heating and cooling appliance i.e. fridges, ovens, cooler and stability chambers. Maintain boilers, compressors, and chillers. Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards. Perform alternating or rotating shift work as well as requirement to work during maintenance shutdowns. How will you get here: Education: High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required College/Technical School diploma in HVACR Technician Program required. Certificate of Qualification: Gas Technician G1 required. Certificate of Qualification: Refrigeration and Air Conditioning #313 required. Experience: Minimum 4 years of previous maintenance experience in a controlled and regulated environment. Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Hands on experience troubleshooting complex systems; HVAC, boilers, chillers, dust collectors, air compressors and purified water systems in an industrial environment. Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices. Good communication skills. Works well in a Team environment. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency with the English language. Standards and Expectations: Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Physical Requirements: Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing/office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time. Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, loud noise, bright lights, fumes or odour.
