Job Description The Finance Administrator is responsible for performing various accounting activities for the department and for supporting ongoing streamlining efforts. This position also provides support to the other Finance Administrators and Financial Accounting Managers to ensure the efficient operation of the finance and accounting departments. Job Responsibilities: Coordinating Accounts Payable activities including checking AP postings, investigating exceptions, requesting corrections to accounting team, and coordinating scheduled payment runs using the corporate AP automation software and ERP system. Reconciling company bank account and biweekly payroll as required Working with other members of the accounting team to manage cash balances and release schedules. Providing accounting and AP support to accounting team members, others in the organization, and suppliers regarding AP transactions. Assisting the Financial Accounting Managers with month-end closeout procedures including reconciling month-end control and capital asset accounts, resolving discrepancies, overseeing monthly accruals, following up on variances, and related activities. Assisting with month-end and year-end requests including audit, regulatory, internal and external requests. Ensuring adherence to corporate accounting policies and internal controls in all activities. Responding to other adhoc department requests as required Supporting the Financial Accounting Managers and other Finance Administrators. Participating in ongoing process improvement initiatives. Additional duties as assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor’s requests. Qualifications Requires higher education in Accounting or Finance, or specialized training/certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision in a multi-task team environment. Excellent decision making skills and strong attention to detail. Knowledge of software implementations. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Ability to multiple tasks. Typically at least 3-6 years of relevant experience for entry to this level. 3+ yrs experience using ERP systems and other accounting support software (expense management, monthend close, AP automation, time reporting software, etc.) Working knowledge of accounting methods as it pertains to capital assets. Additional Details This job has a full time weekly schedule. The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $22.82 - $39.94/hr CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
