Fortinet seeks a QA – User Experience to join the product development team responsible for improving our customers’ ability to monitor network security, make decisions based on complex data points and to tailor deployment configurations with ease. This is a fully in-office role at the Burnaby R&D site and requires networking/cybersecurity knowledge. The position will engage with the full product development cycle, from ideation to implementation to QA and user testing and is therefore well-suited for candidates with QA experience interested in learning about or transitioning into user experience, or vice-versa. Compensation commensurate with experience.
Job Responsibilities
Assist product managers and UX designers to translate project requirements into mockups and technical prototypes by incorporating technical and user experience research
Work closely with developers during implementation to discuss and document design changes based on technical feasibility feedback
Assist QA and UX teams to identify, document and track software defects and feature requests that emerge from user feedback or usability testing
Assist with maintenance of team systems and artifacts such as VMs, product environments and design components
Provide training and mentorship as needed
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of both Fortinet and competitor products
We are looking for:
Knowledge of cybersecurity and networking principles
Knowledge of, or experience with UX research, design and writing
Knowledge of, or experience with QA and troubleshooting principles
Minimum 2 years’ QA or UX work experience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to quickly learn new tools & adapt to changing environments
Experience with Figma or other modern design and prototyping software preferred
Knowledge of front-end development preferred
Degree or diploma in computer science, networking, web/mobile applications, UX/Interactive Design/HCI or equivalent work experience

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $85,000 - $100,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
