In this role the HDR Tunnels Team, we'll count on you to:
Support design, engineering analyses, procurement and construction of tunnels and underground infrastructure projects in Toronto and across North America
Support implementation of Toronto’s Ontario Line Subway Project, a $27 billion 15 km mass transit railway with 9 km of twin tunnels, portals and complex underground interchange stations
Work with multi-disciplinary engineering professionals and design technicians
Conduct desk studies, geotechnical investigations, analysis and design assignments
Coordinate geotechnical site investigations including test pits, boreholes, sampling and testing
Prepare drawings, technical memos, management plans, geotechnical and design reports
Support project managers and senior engineers to deliver infrastructure projects
Plan investigations and design activities that have significant impact on HDR’s success
Assist project managers and senior engineers to deliver infrastructure projects
Support delivery of HDR’s engineering consultancy services to budget and schedule
Participate in business development, marketing and proposal preparation as needed
· Develop professional profile through industry engagement and project engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
MSc degree from accredited university in geotechnical or geological engineering
Academic transcripts showing university courses completed with good grades
Eligible for PEO registration as a Professional Engineer (PEng)
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in geology field work or geotechnical engineering
Knowledge and experience in geotechnical site characterization and mapping
Experience with Microsoft Office software, engineering software and video webinars
Experience with civil and geotechnical design software such as CAD, FLAC, Slope/W
Strong written and oral communication skills for meetings, design reports and technical memos
Available for travel to other HDR offices and remote locations for site work
Adaptable and willing to learn from senior engineering professionals
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
Experience with MS Office, GIS, and CADD, as appropriate
