Job Description
Operate a commercial vehicle to pick up and deliver goods to customers in Melfort and surrounding areas
Provide excellent customer service to a well-established customer base
Perform thorough pre-trip, post-trip, and en-route vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
Accurately complete and maintain electronic logs using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD)
Adhere to all applicable transportation regulations, including hours of service rules
Properly secure and handle various types of cargo according to load securement guidelines
Follow all Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) protocols when applicable
Plan efficient routes and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules
Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition
Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members
Complete all required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle maintenance issues promptly
Participate in ongoing safety training and company meetings as required
Represent the company professionally through appearance, behavior, and adherence to company policies
Qualifications
Class 1 license required
Physically Fit
Ability to complete proper pre/post & inter trips
Knowledge of ELD (Electronic Logging Devices)
Knowledge of hours of service
Knowledge of load securement TDG & WHMIS
Must have good customer service skills
Must be reliable, dependable, and hard-working
Must be able to provide a clean criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 work-related references
