We are seeking a driven and collaborative Regional Human Resources Manager to join our HRBP team. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role partners with leaders and associates as a strategic advisor, coach, and operational partner on a wide range of HR matters. The Regional Human Resources Manager will ensure the consistent application of HR policies and programs, alignment with corporate values, and support for both unionized and non-unionized environments across Ontario.
This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Corporate, Distribution, Sales, and Customer Experience—and play a key role in delivering national HR initiatives. Occasional travel to various sites is required.
In this role you will:
Act as a trusted advisor and partner to leadership team and provide advice and recommendations on performance management, policy interpretation, recruitment and selection strategies, terminations, training and development
Provide proactive employee relations support across both unionized and non-unionized environments by building strong relationships with associates and leaders, addressing workplace concerns, facilitating conflict resolution, and ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and practices to promote a positive and inclusive work culture
Collaborate and support delivery and deployment of company-wide programs such as Engagement, Performance Management, Learning and Performance Review cycles
Enhance employee engagement and retention by partnering with the business to provide ongoing coaching, gather feedback, analyze data, and develop targeted strategies to address opportunities
Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable government legislation, employment standards, and regulatory requirements by monitoring changes in laws, updating policies and practices, and providing guidance to leaders.
Proactively identify risks, implement corrective actions, and foster a culture of accountability to maintain legal and ethical business operations
Independently lead and manage associate investigations, ensuring thorough fact-finding, objective analysis, and timely resolution in alignment with organizational policies, employment legislation, and best practices. Provide clear recommendations and partner with leaders to address outcomes while maintaining confidentiality, fairness, and compliance
Facilitate training sessions across the business both in person and virtually as required
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and support the business with identifying recruitment strategies to address staffing needs and to ensure teams are fully staffed with a diverse workforce
Lead and participate in various Human Resources projects, initiatives as required
Contribute to continuous improvement in processes and practices to influence human resources business partner strategies
Participate and support the Health and Safety Committee
The Qualifications and Experience we like to see:
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience as a client-focused HR Business Partner, supporting a large and diverse client group
Union/Labour relations experience is required
Post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field; designation (CHRP/CHRL) in Human Resource Management is an asset
Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and ability to influence, negotiate, problem-solve, analyze and make recommendations to management
Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills
Ability to critically analyze HR data to proactively identify trends and prepare HR/Business plans
Strong time management and organizational skills and attention to detail to manage work, competing deadlines and sensitive projects
Experience with using Oracle or an HRIS system is a definite asset
Strong computer skills in Excel, MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
Bilingual in English and French (written/verbal) is an asset
Will be required to travel to Distribution Centres/Stores as needed across Ontario
