Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst
Purpose:
The FP&A Analyst will play a critical role in managing the organization’s financial planning and reporting cycles, with a strong focus on budgeting, monthly performance reporting, and variance analysis. This role will partner with leaders across the business to ensure financial accountability, provide meaningful insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Lead preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, including variance analysis, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
Manage departmental and corporate budget cycles, including coordination, consolidation, and review with business leaders.
Provide timely analysis of actual results against budget/forecast, highlighting risks, opportunities, and key drivers.
Partner with department heads to support performance tracking and financial discipline.
Maintain forecasting models and contribute to rolling forecasts and annual planning processes.
Support management and executive reporting packages with clear, actionable insights.
Perform ad-hoc analysis to evaluate business initiatives, investments, and cost management opportunities.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial information within ERP and reporting systems.
Contribute to REIT and partnership reporting as the business expands.
Requirements:
4–6 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial reporting (not accounting-focused).
Strong background in budgeting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, scenario analysis).
Working knowledge of ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
Proven ability to interpret data and deliver insights to non-financial stakeholders.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
Role Specific Requirements:
Experience supporting departmental budgets and reporting in a corporate environment.
Exposure to real estate development, property management, or REIT reporting is an asset.
Comfortable managing recurring reporting responsibilities alongside project-based analysis.
