What you'll do
Preparing U.S. Federal and state income tax returns for individuals
Preparing U.S. Federal and state income tax returns for business entities
Demonstrating an understanding of increasingly complex U.S. tax concepts
In collaboration with other tax professionals, developing recommendations and implementing tax plans by preparing tax analysis and memoranda
Assisting with research for U.S. consulting mandates
Litigation support including representation to the taxation authorities and preparation of appeals
Providing clients and partners with quality, timely and responsive services
Keeping informed of changing U.S. tax laws and effectively applying tax knowledge to files while remaining thorough and accurate
Developing practical and business-oriented approaches to the client’s tax situation and arriving at appropriate conclusion
Contributing to the development and execution of the firm’s business plan
What you need to succeed
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting
U.S. CPA, Enrolled Agent, or Canadian CPA designation
Relevant consulting work experience in a public accounting firm
1-2 years of experience in U.S. tax compliance, an asset
Ability to work within a varying work schedule and within required budgets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English, French would be an asset)
Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Experience with Tax compliance software (i.e. Gosystem or Prosystem, etc.), CaseWare and TaxPrep, an asset
