Position Summary The Class 3A Driver will be relied upon to visit various client sites to collect and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. As a professional driver with a safe driving record, you will utilize TDG knowledge and experience to assist with labeling containers and preparing transport documentation. The chosen individual will perform this diverse range of activities with a focus on safety, professionalism, and teamwork. Key Accountabilities Safely operate all required equipment. Professionally represent GFL on all client sites and look for ways to expand services. Ensure all assigned equipment is properly loaded and maintained. Keep accurate drivers’ logs as required to document mileage, hours and material hauled. Communicate effectively with a team of qualified professionals. Participate in safety meetings, last minute risk assessments and job hazard assessments. Identify and classify all types of hazardous waste. Handle drum dollies and pallet jacks for transportation and loading of materials. Requirements Valid Class 3 Driver’s License (Automatic) with Air Brakes and a clean Commercial Driving Abstract; Valid Class 1 Driver's License with Air Brakes is an asset. Overnight stays as required and LOA provided. Comfortable and able to complete manual paperwork. Ability to use computer and mobile applications. Manual dexterity and the ability to lift over 50 lbs. Valid safety tickets such as First Aid/CPR, Construction Safety Training (CSTS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and H2S Alive are considered an asset but in-house training will be provided. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance. Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities. Excellent customer service skills Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques. Ability to work safely and independently. High level of personal integrity. Strong work ethic. Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
