About the Opportunity The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University invites applications for a non-tenure track part time faculty lecturer in Information Technology on the Toronto Campus. The College of Professional Studies is one of ten colleges of Northeastern University, a nationally ranked private research university. Founded in 1960, the College provides lifelong experiential learning that unleashes the capacities of aspiring individuals in all stages and walks of life. The College teaches undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students on campus and online in more than 90 programs. Applicant must be legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of the appointment without employer sponsorship. Responsibilities Deliver engaging, academically rigorous instruction in graduate-level cybersecurity and information security courses. Guide students through applied, hands-on projects, case studies, and real-world security scenarios. Collaborate with academic leadership to continuously improve curriculum in alignment with emerging trends and technologies in cybersecurity. Support student learning through timely feedback, office hours, and ongoing academic engagement. Qualifications A PhDin Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is preferred. Candidates should have relevant industry experience in cybersecurity, ideally in roles involving enterprise security, consulting, security architecture, incident response, or threat intelligence. Applicants should hold one or more professional certifications in the field, such as CISSP, CCSP, or other recognized credentials including CISM, CISA, CEH, GSEC, or equivalent. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with current tools, technologies, and practices across several of the following areas: Network security and security monitoring tools Cloud security platforms and services (e.g., AWS IAM, Azure Security Center, GCP) DevSecOps pipelines and infrastructure-as-code security SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk) and vulnerability assessment tools •Penetration testing and ethical hacking techniques Digital forensics and incident response practices Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2) Zero Trust Architecture and related security models Experience in designing or delivering graduate-level curriculum is an asset, and previous university-level teaching experience is strongly preferred.
