Senior Financial Planner
How does the role impact the organization?
We are looking for a Senior Financial Planner to join our Vancouver branch that is dedicated to delivering service excellence in supporting our Raymond James advisory teams (advisors) and their clients.
What will your role be responsible for?
Prepares and delivers clear, modular planning documents for RJL's high-net-worth clients.
Takes charge of each RJL client’s planning process from the initial meeting, gathering and entering client data, collaborating with other professionals, interpreting planning information, and delivering the final plan.
Works closely with team members to provide top-quality financial planning support to advisors, clients, and internal partners.
Builds strong relationships with advisors to help them better understand and engage in Financial Planning for the benefit of their high-net-worth clients.
Prepares and leads presentations and webinars to help advisors and clients better understand Financial Planning.
Keeps up-to-date on all aspects of Financial Planning to stay informed and relevant.
Other duties as needed.

What do we expect from you?
Integrity, initiative, flexibility, and the willingness to help client families in their financial literacy and planning journey.
Investing in your professional career and maintaining up-to-date knowledge in all areas of financial planning, including education, retirement, income tax, estate and insurance and risk management.
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of Canadian financial planning and its key concepts.
U.S. financial planning experience is a plus.
Good knowledge of Canadian investment structures, accounts, and related tax and succession laws.
Excellent client service and communication skills, with experience in face-to-face meetings, video calls, and phone conversations.
Identifies client opportunities and provides solutions that align with their goals throughout the planning process.
Strong and confident presentation skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to:
Work independently and as part of a team.
Promote and support the use of financial planning tools within the branch.
Handles client confidential information with discretion and collaborates effectively with other professional advisors (tax and legal).
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
College diploma or university degree, preferably in business or finance.
Experience with client-facing financial planning experience, including work with Canadian corporations, trusts, and some cross-border situations.
Experience creating and presenting financial plans for high-net-worth Canadian families in a wealth management setting.
Recent experience (within the last two years) using Conquest Planning or Naviplan software.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and open to improving skills or learning new programs.
Licenses/Certifications:
Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation is required (Pl. Fin for Quebec applicants)
Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) and/or Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation is an asset.
Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation is an asset.

Salary Range: BC (based on Education, Work Experience, etc) $100,000-125,000 in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
