Empower Slice’s Internal Products team to create innovative tools that enable
employees to work smarter, faster and more efficiently.
The Role
As a Software Development Manager for Internal Products at Slice, you will
oversee the design, development and delivery of mission-critical applications
that directly support our operations teams. By fostering innovation and
technical excellence, you’ll enable Slice to process orders more efficiently and
ensure a seamless experience for both staff and customers. This role offers the
opportunity to drive meaningful change, collaborate with passionate
professionals, and make a measurable impact on how Slice operates at scale. This
is a hands-on Development Manager role and you can expect a healthy mix of
coding activities (such as code reviews), alongside people management and
leadership responsibilities.
The Team
You’ll be leading a high-performing team of 9 talented Software Developers known
for their agility and technical expertise. Operating within a collaborative
structure, the team partners closely with Product, Design and Operations
stakeholders. You’ll report directly to the VP of Engineering, ensuring
alignment with broader organizational goals while driving rapid innovation. This
is a tight-knit group that thrives under pressure and consistently delivers
exceptional results.
The Winning Recipe
We’re looking for a creative, entrepreneurial Software Development Manager who
is excited to build world-class products for small business counters. These are
the core competencies this role calls for:
- Proven track record of shipping complex, scalable Python web applications in
fast-paced environments
- Vast hands-on leadership managing development teams within a mono repo/mono
app architecture
- Proven ability to collaborate closely with Product Management to define and
deliver business-critical features
- Track record of driving technical decisions and code quality in large, shared
codebases
- Implemented observability best practices, leveraging Datadog for real-time
monitoring, alerting, and proactive incident response across the mono
repo/app
- Promoted a culture of code ownership, ensuring engineers are accountable for
the quality, deployment and ongoing support of their features in production.
- Championed automation of end-to-end and synthetic QA testing, integrating
robust test suites directly into CI/CD pipelines for rapid feedback and
higher release confidence
- Experience with Amazon Connect is highly desirable
