Position Summary
North Corridor Co-op invites applications for the position of Yard Attendant to join our team on a full-time basis at our location in Boyle, AB. Reporting to the Yard Supervisor, the Home Centre Yard Attendant is responsible for providing prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service to guests. They will perform loading and picking our members orders as well as guest service duties such as assisting with order placement, receiving, inventory verifications, refilling racks and holes within the shop and maintaining general cleanliness throughout the yard and various outbuildings. Other duties include picking orders for delivery or pick-up, unloading delivery trucks, operating heavy machinery, keeping equipment and/or vehicles fueled, making hydraulic hoses from a variety of fittings, performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Candidates must have the ability to work well within multi-generational teams.
Applicants should be self-reliant, goal oriented and have the ability to learn new skills quickly and to set and adjust priorities.
Applicant must be able to comfortably lift 75 pounds and be able to be on their feet for an 8-hour shift.
Forklift experience preferred.
Customer Service experience preferred.
Basic understanding of Hardware, Lumber and/or Argo products preferred
Read and use a tape measure
Be familiar with basic math, such as fractions, linear feet and basic conversions
Willingness to complete various training programs

Guest Service
To ensure high level of guest service is provided, team member attitude is appropriate
Approaching guests for the purpose of providing customer service is the first priority over other duties and all team members must maintain a constant alertness to guests.
To keep a clean and organized workstation; the yard, outbuildings and far yard are considered your workstations
Unload/load transport trucks of product
To assist all members who enter the yard in a genuine and helpful manner
To remove snow, cut grass or other maintenance as required
To keep racks fully stocked
Before any machine may be operated a complete walk-around and check must be done. If there is anything needing attention, it must be attended to before the machine is put to work
Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Manual dexterity required to use machinery and cutting tools
Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 75 pounds; lift boxes and items up to 150 pounds on an intermittent basis with the assistance of a machine or second person
Ability to push or pull up to 1,350 pounds using a pallet jack, as assigned
Will be required to be on one's feet for an extended period
Ability to use ladders and other equipment required to perform duties safely
Exposure to temperature extremes (store temperatures, outside temperatures)
Busy, fast paced environment where self-motivation and drive are a must
May be exposed to various scents, perfumes and other additional air born chemicals
Need to be aware of surroundings as there are many moving vehicles within working area
