About the Role:
We are continuing to invest and grow our Go-based Connector team at Redpanda. We
are looking for a Software Engineer who is up for the challenge to not only
build the systems and to lift Redpanda into the public cloud space, but also
shape the technical culture that creates these systems. In this role, you will
focus on developing and maintaining our Connector ecosystem, with an emphasis on
open source development. You will collaborate closely with our Cloud and Core
engineering teams to build robust and scalable systems, with an emphasis on
stability and safe upgrades with zero downtime.
You Will:
- Contribute to our Connect open source repo
- Contribute to a Kubernetes helm chart to manage Redpanda Connect in a
zero-downtime fashion
- Design new AI solutions to evolve how end-users work with streaming data
- Participate in an on-call escalation chain, help drive down problems that
lead to on-call escalations, and help drive improving on-call quality of life
- Work with all engineering teams for deploying services across all of our
supported clouds
- Make resilience and observability integral to the system, enabling us to run
a managed, cloud-based streaming-as-a-service with >99.9% uptime
- Build & design Redpanda’s connect-in-the-cloud infrastructure with
reliability and performance in mind
You Have:
- Passion for working on deeply technical projects and wanting to work on
distributed systems, concurrency & parallelism, and correctness
- Strong understanding and experience of Go
- Knowledge of AI internals, limitations, and how to use AI suggestions
programmatically
- Expert knowledge of at least one: AWS, Azure, GCP
- An understanding of stream processing
- Experience and are comfortable working with a 100% distributed engineering
team, collaborating on GitHub, in the open and a self-starter
- Comfort working within a small team and 100% distributed engineering org
collaborating on GitHub, JIRA, Slack, Confluence and video meetings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with
stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Nice to have:
- Working knowledge of building Kubernetes operators for storage systems
- Experience building a SaaS platform
- Experience operating and using streaming platforms either as a user or
provider
- Cloud engineering experience
- UI experience
U.S. base salary range for this role is $195,000 - $230,000 (CA, NY, WA) and
$186,000 - $220,000 (other US locations). Our salary ranges are determined by
role, level, and location. As a remote-first company, we strive to consider each
candidate's job-related skills, location, experience, relevant education or
