The Opportunity
At 4AG Robotics, we build robots that harvest mushrooms, and we’re growing fast.
Our systems generate a huge amount of performance and time-series data, and
we’re looking for a Data Scientist to join our Software Team to help us make
sense of it all. You’ll work closely with our cloud and on-prem data
infrastructure to analyze trends and uncover insights that help improve robot
performance in the field. If you love solving complex data problems, working
with a high-ownership team, and want to have a direct impact on real-world

What You’ll Do

Analyze performance and operational data from our deployed robots to identify
trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.

Work directly within our C++/SQL-based stack to extract and analyze system
data (this isn’t a dev-heavy role, but experience navigating code and
databases is key).

Collaborate with software developers, roboticists, and hardware engineers to
translate insights into product and system improvements.

Build tools, queries, and visualizations to support internal analysis and
decision-making.

Help maintain and optimize data access pipelines across both cloud and
on-prem systems.

Present findings in a way that’s digestible to cross-functional teams, from
engineering to field operations.

You’ve uncovered data-driven insights that led to measurable improvements in
robot reliability, efficiency, or uptime.

You’re the go-to person for understanding performance patterns across our
deployed fleet.

Your tools and analysis are helping the Software Team (and beyond) make
faster, smarter decisions.

You’re proactively working with the team to identify new areas where data can
drive product improvements.

You’ve built confidence in the data, and how we use it.
What You Bring

Solid experience working with large, complex datasets in a production
environment.

Strong proficiency with SQL and an understanding of how to navigate and
interpret C++-based data systems.

Experience with performance, time-series, or sensor data — especially in
embedded or robotics systems.

Comfort working with both on-prem and cloud storage systems.

Strong communication skills — you can explain technical findings clearly and
collaborate well across disciplines.

Bonus points if you’ve built custom analytics tools or pipelines that others
rely on.
