Responsibilities
What your days look like as a Payroll Specialist:
You coordinate the full payroll process, including entering and verifying hours, absences, bonuses, and adjustments.
You prepare remittances to government agencies, pension plans, retirement funds, and benefits providers.
You ensure compliance with internal policies and current tax laws.
You manage tax filings, records of employment, and remittances to authorities.
You perform monthly and year-end reconciliations (T4, RL1, DAS, etc.).
You support employees and internal stakeholders by responding to payroll-related inquiries.
You participate in special projects aimed at optimizing payroll processes.
Qualifications
To succeed as a Payroll Specialist, you should have:
A college diploma (DEC) in administration, accounting, or equivalent
6 to 10 years of experience in similar roles
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification
Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Knowledge of the Ultipro payroll system (an asset)
Experience with U.S. payroll processing (an asset)
Perfect bilingualism (French and English, spoken and written); Given the diversity of our team and the need to communicate with local, pan-Canadian, and international clients and partners, fluency in both French and English is required.
Strong attention to detail, customer service mindset, and exemplary discretion
