Job Description: Accountabilities: Assist with the set-up, take-down and organization of toy distribution program. Assist with the scheduling and organization tasks of volunteers. Assist with client registrations Receive and process donations of toys for distribution and provide assistance with packing, counting and sorting toy donations. Assist with recording statistical data in a clear, organized, and accurate manner. Receive and process telephone calls from clients requiring assistance. Perform other related duties as required. WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a temporary position. Shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as the hours may increase as per operational requirements. Working environment is typically in the office in generally agreeable conditions. Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs. Education, Qualifications and Certifications: Completed High School or equivalent Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements: A minimum of one (1) year of prior related experience working in community-based programs would be a definite asset. Skills and Capabilities: Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and adaptability. Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to stand for long periods of time Some experience in inventory control and processing Administrative skills in Web browser and online databases Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Work timely, efficiently and in a safe manner Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. Honest, courteous, and punctual; represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner. Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution. Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening. Full “G” license considered an asset Bilingualism is considered an asset Experienced in using pallet jack considered an asset Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $17.61 to $22.01 with a maximum of $26.41.
