Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel is seeking a Part-time Surveillance Operator!
Reporting to the Surveillance Shift Manager, the Surveillance Operator is responsible for protecting and overseeing monies, property and constant observation of all gaming areas including but not limited to slot and table games. The Surveillance Operator is accountable for reporting all suspicious/unethical activities, incidents, discrepancies that concern the security and safety of the Great Blue Heron Casino in which could result in harm or loss to the company.
The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills and abilities, executing the following in support of the company’s vision, mission and values:
Observe all casino games, assigned areas and employees’ appearance and performance with regard to adherence to department procedures
Acquire and maintain a complete knowledge and proficiency in all theft and cheating methods. Report any suspicious acts, attempts or incidents of cheating or theft by guests or employees to the Surveillance Supervisor
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge and proficiency in the operation of video monitor console equipment, related logging procedures and location of cameras
Familiar with the current list of undesirables and cheats maintained by the Surveillance/Security Departments; be alert and report any such individuals on the gaming floor to the Surveillance Supervisor
Prepare Surveillance Special Reports as required in a complete, factual and legible manner
Testify in a court of law as a witness for the Great Blue Heron Casino in any gaming or criminal matter observed
Safeguard all confidential information and ensure that Surveillance Department and gaming activities are not discussed with anyone outside of the Surveillance Department, except as authorized by the Surveillance Manager or as required by law
Maintain anonymity of self and others in the Surveillance Department. Report any personal circumstances that may pose a conflict of interest or hamper credibility to the Surveillance Supervisor
To perform other duties as assigned by the Surveillance Supervisor/Shift Manager
Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:
Surveillance experience is an asset
Law and Security Administration or Police Foundations Diploma preferred or comparable working experience in related fields with strength in gaming/surveillance areas
Must be able to maintain confidentiality
Good visual activity with both eyes corrected to 20/20. Absence of color or night blindness that could impair the ability to observe accurately, whether through personal observation or the use of video surveillance equipment
Ability to write, read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand instruction, record information and communicate in a timely and professional manner
Ability to grasp, bend, stoop (to floor level), reach (to six feet), kneel crouch, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move supplies/equipment weighing 40 lbs., as needed on a daily basis
Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overnights. The hours of work will be based on operational needs. Ready to embark on your next adventure?
