The Role
Our Visual Merchandising team is looking for an Area Visual Manager (AVM) for part of the Alberta region.
Reporting to the AD – GTM Planning, the Area Visual Manager leads a small group of stores. The AVM will be responsible for ensuring consistent execution of visual directives, enhancing the customer journey through visual presentation, and driving compelling in-store storytelling.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Brand & Visual Presentation:
● Deliver visual merchandising excellence across all stores in the area, ensuring directives are fully executed and adapted to local demographics and customer trends
● Partner with Store Managers and District Visual Managers to create visually compelling displays that inspire and guide customers through the store
● Oversee window displays, signage, in-store displays, floor layouts, and seasonal or promotional presentations
● Ensure all brand standards are met, reflecting company culture, product positioning, and target market
● Review weekly directives and share Tableau top-seller reports with stores in the area
Customer Experience:
● Create immersive shopping experiences by ensuring seamless flow, density, and adjacencies across the sales floor
● Support seasonal launches, campaigns, and vendor shop-in-shop activations with elevated visual execution
● Maintain store environments that are clean, safe, and inspiring for customers
People and Talent Management:
● Lead, coach, and develop Visual Managers and store-level visual teams to maximize performance
● Build strong relationships with Store Managers and associates, fostering collaboration between visual and operations
● Support onboarding and continuous training of visual merchandising techniques
● Provide regular feedback using restore images, set clear objectives, and promote a high-performance mindset across teams
Operations:
● Support new store openings with planning and execution of all visual merchandising requirements
● Ensure visual standards are aligned with stock levels, product arrivals, and floor capacity plans
● Monitor BOH organization to ensure product availability supports visual execution
● Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, and Operations to deliver consistent brand expression
● Track and report on compliance of visual execution across the area
Communication & Reporting:
● Act as the primary liaison between store teams, District Visuals, and Corporate Visual Merchandising
● Share directives, plans, and feedback in a timely and actionable way
● Consolidate insights from stores to provide recommendations for future directives and execution strategies
● Present visual performance updates and insights to the District Visual Manager and Retail leadership
Other:
● Travel frequently across the assigned area to support store execution
● Assist in special projects, including fixture reviews and RPS reviews as needed
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
● 2–3 years of visual merchandising leadership experience at area or multi-store level
● Strong knowledge of brand presentation, customer flow, and product adjacencies
● Ability to inspire and coach diverse teams, from store associates to visual managers
● Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail
● Numerate, with the ability to analyze sales and compliance data to drive insights
