Job Overview:
Lead the financial process relating to capital expenditures, including analysis of performance pertaining to capital expenditure projects and forecasts evaluating cash flow, by liaising with stakeholders across the business to support the buildout of robust capex models and business cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Evaluation:
Lead project financials by leveraging existing financials models to determine feasibility of capital projects, including IRR, Payback and NPV analysis. Provide strategic recommendations based on financial assessments and link back to long range initiatives.
Lead the capex cash flow forecast process and provide financial leadership for the financial development for small, medium, and large-scale projects.
Track changes (vs. budget, vs forecast) for the approved capital projects, assess the financial impact on KPIs and document the changes as per process.
Provide financial management as it pertains to integration projects for both CAPEX and OPEX spend.
Reporting and Compliance:
Prepare period comprehensive Capex reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders which summarize project status, timing of tollgates, budget utilization, and financial performance.
Lead the monthly and year to date Capex and OPEX spend, working cross functionally with other stakeholders to understand future project flow, OPEX requirements to estimate total project spend vs budget.
Become SME on capex vs OPEX classifications. Deliver quarterly training to cross functional teams on Capex, OPEX, internal controls, approval matrices, timely submission of internal documents that assist with proper depreciation recognition and timing.
Capex Budgeting:
Manage the annual capital expenditure budget, as well as project capex captured in Long Term Plan (LTP) by working closely with department heads to identify and prioritize projects.
Create and manage depreciation schedule, making updates to depreciation budget and forecast based on project start dates.
Communications:
Act as a finance lead on post implementation reviews and cash flow forecasting to senior management both at Give and Go and to Mondelez.
The Recipe for Success:
Bachelor’ degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and capital expenditure management.
Previous experience leading cross functional teams and influencing leaders
CPA, CA, CBV or CFA
Strong understanding of accounting standards, accounting concepts, US GAAP, IFRS, best practices as well as proven track record of implementing the knowledge
Must have exceptional skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
Results oriented to lead the change process and plan creation under tight time constraints autonomously
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Strong business acumen/decision making skills to review research/data and translate that into actionable insight
Manage several deadlines/deliverables where clear process or tools has not been developed
Strong understanding of Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) methodology, IRR and Payback concepts
Background of in-depth financial analysis; demonstrated ability to analyze and draw insights from information and convey complex information in a straightforward manner
