Position Summary: The Exam Deputy, reporting to the Chief Invigilator/Exam Office, is the principal deputy of an exam session and must be present during the whole exam period including the preparatory and finishing stages. The deputy must ensure that both invigilation and administration is done according to instructions and established procedures. They must ensure the security of all examination papers and booklets, both used and unused. The Exam deputy must use good judgement when dealing with professors and students and be courteous at all times. They are the first to arrive and the last to leave the exam premises. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chief Invigilator/Exam Office, responsible for: Oversees the timely running of undergraduate exam sessions including supervising and assigning 80 invigilators/circulators per session to specific tasks and roles and maintaining an accurate database of when they worked. Responsible for the security and accuracy of the number of exams written for each session and for ensuring that all exams (unwritten & written) are securely locked in the exam vault. Supervises and trains office assistants to ensure that the necessary logistics to run exams efficiently are carried out. Responsible for dealing with students with various exam-related issues (e.g. illness) or instances of academic misconduct and documenting these and other issues. Responsible for the accuracy of exam tallies and for advanced preparation of exam documents. Able to lift and carry heavy materials such as boxes full of exam booklets. 3 years exam invigilation-related experience.
