General Information
Working with the Human Resources team, the student will support across various functions ranging from working on recruitment processes and onboarding new employees to assisting with employee engagement initiatives and managing HR databases. This is a perfect role for a student looking to explore a career in Human Resources.
Responsibilities
Assisting with posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews
Helping with the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing welcome materials, assisting in organizing orientation sessions
Maintaining and organizing employee files on HRIS
Supporting the HR programmatic activities that focus on improving company culture, supporting diversity, equity and inclusion along with fulfilling HR commitments as part of our 2026 deliverables
Brainstorm unique and low-cost activities that support creating community within the workplace. This may include event planning, coordinating discussions, and supporting the creation of employee driven videos that aim to showcase the unique work we do.
Ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations by conducting audits, assisting in policy updates and record tracking
Leveraging your knack for drafting compelling employee communications to support informing employees about HR related activities
Using your strong attention to detail to support data entry for HR metrics and creating reports on employee statistics
Support talent development, gain hands-on experience with our Learning Management System to manage training programs, track employee learning, and contribute to additional training implementation. Recommend ways in which we can continue to improve our approach to learning and training at Atura Power.
Collaborating with senior HR personnel on payroll functions
Performing various administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and responding to HR inquiries
Conducting research on best practices in HR and presenting findings to the team
Taking a “lead” approach to managing activities to support our student program to make internships interesting learning experiences and supporting students getting a full understanding of the magnitude of our operations and all the opportunities we have available.

Skills and Requirements:
Currently enrolled in university or college - preferably in Business Management, Business Administration, Human Resources or a related degree or diploma program
Strong writing and editing skills, comfort using social media platforms
Ability to manage pre-existing web-based content and reformatting and editing experience would be considered an asset
This role will involve some public speaking and facilitation of small groups for various HR projects. The selected intern must have a willingness to take on these types of opportunities
Some technical knowledge of online content management systems (SharePoint) an asset
Team player with solid interpersonal skills
Strong organizational, attention to detail, and project management skills
Proficient in Microsoft 365 – including MS Teams platform
Interest in Ai and online tools to find improvements and efficiencies
