What you can expect to do here:
Set the strategic vision and direction for the monitoring and instrumentation function, aligning with organizational goals and industry trends.
Oversee the design, implementation, and management of advanced instrumentation and monitoring systems for large-scale and high-impact projects.
Lead the development and continuous improvement of technical standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes.
Provide expert guidance and technical oversight on complex project challenges, risk management, and troubleshooting.
Foster a culture of innovation by evaluating and integrating emerging technologies and methodologies.
Build, mentor, and lead multidisciplinary teams, including senior engineers and technical specialists.
Develop and manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and long-term capability planning.
Represent the organization in high-level client engagements, industry forums, and technical conferences.
Oversee the preparation and review of major proposals, project plans, and technical reports.
Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with clients, vendors, and academic institutions.
Drive knowledge sharing, professional development, and succession planning within the team.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators for instrumentation and monitoring activities.
What you'll bring to WSP…
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
15+ years of progressive experience in instrumentation and monitoring, with significant leadership responsibilities.
Recognized expertise in the design, deployment, and management of complex monitoring systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage multiple, concurrent projects.
Strong business acumen, with experience in budgeting, resource planning, and client relationship management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or equivalent.
Proven track record of innovation and thought leadership in the field.
