We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Accounting to lead our accounting operations and support our growing Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the financial close, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and business partnering within the organization.
The ideal candidate brings a strong technical accounting background, IFRS expertise, a proactive mindset, and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
In this role you will:
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger, sub-ledgers, and financial systems
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Report entity results to Corporate Accounting and Finance teams in a timely and accurate manner
Present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to the Management team
Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting teams
Design and maintain effective operational and financial internal controls; recommend and implement improvements
Ensure compliance with IFRS and group accounting policies
Manage internal and external audit processes and respond to audit inquiries
Lead implementation of new IFRS accounting standards as required
Oversee cash forecasting and treasury-related matters
Ensure regulatory and tax compliance, including timely filings of income tax, sales tax, and withholding returns
Act as a key business partner to Corporate Accounting, Finance, and General Managers of DTC brands
Maintain dashboards and KPIs, reporting regularly to senior leadership
Drive optimization of accounting systems and platforms to improve efficiency
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Proactively identify obstacles, develop solutions, and lead process improvement initiatives
Manage external relationships with banks, auditors, consultants, and regulatory officials
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
The Qualifications and Experience with like to see:
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field
CPA designation or equivalent (CA, CMA, CGA) is required
7+ years of progressive experience in finance related positions
Solid understanding and experience with IFRS
Audit experience preferred - Big 6 firm experience is a strong asset
Systems-savvy with experience optimizing accounting platforms and processes
Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communicator who can collaborate effectively within the direct reports as well as senior leadership within the organization
Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of driving solutions to complex financial and operational challenges
Proven track record of meeting commitments on time with the highest standards of ethics and integrity
A “hands on” attitude with a willingness to step in as required
Leadership experience with excellent skills in motivating others and developing talent
