As a Clinical Trainer you will:
Provide training to staff at various organization sites through the delivery of Workplace Violence Prevention (WVP) training programs and activities.
Participate, in consultation and collaboration with Managers/Coordinators, various unit leadership teams and other relevant stakeholders, in the development and coordination of standardized clinical support and training programs to assist the knowledge transfer of WVP strategies into daily clinical practice.
Assist in the setting of priorities, planning, organizing and coordinating training activities to support individual and group learning needs and jointly supports the attainment of project goals and missions.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Diploma in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing plus two years' recent, related experience including experience in training and/or group facilitation, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current practising registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Valid BC Driver’s License required. Local area travel may require use of own vehicle.
Knowledge & Abilities
Broad knowledge of applicable Professional Practice ethics and standards of practice.
Broad knowledge of teaching principles, methods and tools.
Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in patient care.
Ability to teach, demonstrate, facilitate and coach.
Ability to develop curriculum, objectives and learning materials.
Ability to use research methods, techniques and/or sources of information.
Ability to communicate verbally clearly, objectively and effectively, listen to and understand ideas and information presented in groups and one-on-one.
Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing
Critical thinking and problem solving skills and the ability to evaluate information against a set of standards.
Ability to establish workload priorities independently and in collaboration with others.
Ability to provide effective consultation to a variety of customers.
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others including the ability to show sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Physical ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Computer literacy with email, word processing and presentation applications.
