The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant, Accounts Receivable (AR) to support the accurate and timely processing of all accounts receivable activities. This role is responsible for managing student loans, tuition and corporate payments, daily deposits, banking transactions, student-related AR transactions, outlet deposit uploads, daily reconciliations, and assisting with refunds.
The AR Accountant serves as a key liaison between the Office of the Registrar (OTR), the Corporate Reporting team, various departmental outlets, and both internal and external clients. This position also plays a critical role in investigating and resolving discrepancies, while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

The Role
Processing and Reconciliations
Processing of assigned Account Receivable (AR) related transactions
Daily reconciliation of banking, corporate and student related transactional entries (both Banner, and non-Banner)
Processing of SAIT’s outlet revenues, deposits, student loans and incoming payments of all types (Corporate, student etc.)
Processing of journal entries, correcting entries, and posting of payments in corporate and student sub-ledgers
Working closely with the corporate reporting team to analyses, investigate and resolve banking discrepancies
Assisting with the student refunds
Handling student, corporate and outlet’s related enquiries
Assisting the supervisor with complex reconciliations, development of SOPs etc
Training of co-workers related to Banner and non-Banner tasks
Exercising judgement in the application of accounting principles and policies
Performing complex analysis with regards to student accounts, collections, refunds etc
Assisting the AR team with projects
Assisting fiscal and internal audits
Assisting in the preparation of periodic lead sheets, accruals, deferrals and monthly working papers
Other Duties:
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Banner testing on AR related processes
Troubleshooting, recommending and implementing process improvements
Other duties as required
Required Qualifications & Experience
Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or finance or should be working towards one.
Working towards an Accounting Designation is an asset
Advanced Excel skills (Pivots, conditional formatting, knowledge of macros etc)
Experience with complex analysis and general ledger reconciliations is a requirement
Experience with ERP systems
Required Skills
Knowledge of ERP systems, advanced Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
Good understanding of accounting principles and procedure
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent Computer skills
Experience in performing complex account reconciliations and analysis, with strong attention to detail
