Job Description What is the opportunity? Fraud Data Science & Analytics(DSA) consists of five collaborating functions that leverage data science to optimize across strategic pillars of Fraud Loss, Operating Cost & Client Experience, and empowering our partners with analytic expertise. As part of DSA, the Value Assurance and Insights (VAI) team represents Fraud Management on data science collaborations with internal and external analytic teams. The VAI team works with partners to develop, validate and maintain fraud risk models and features that contribute to DSA’s efforts to optimize performance in fraud loss, operating cost, client experience and risk framework. What will you do? Represent Fraud Management in collaboration with various Data Science teams on analytic Proofs of Value (POV)s, validate the resulting models to assess feasibility and potential Fraud benefits Lead the design and execution of a variety of analytic Proof of Value experiments on Vendor Data Products to ensure they will provide real Fraud benefits Work with Fraud IT to ensure implementability for prospective data products Liaise with Vendor Data Product suppliers to optimize performance of data products, performing necessary tuning and leveraging changes in data technology when available Design and build model performance reporting with metrics for evaluating data products and fraud risk models built by DSA and establish appropriate thresholds for automated alerts on model performance Identify, research and escalate performance issues, ensuring management awareness and appropriate action is taken Work with Enterprise Model Risk Management to validate vendor models by completeing model documentation What do you need to succeed? Must-have 5+ years’ experience in advanced analytics or data science related roles, working with large, real-world datasets Strong knowledge of big data and cloud platforms, data architectures and tools, and proven experience with analytical software packages and programming languages Ability to quickly develop an understanding of the technical architecture that underpins the Fraud Decisioning Ecosystem and how it supports day-to-day detection requirements of DSA Degree in a Quantitative Discipline and strong problem solving, research and quantitative skills Solid data analytics expertise, with an understanding of common enterprise technologies and approaches Professional oral and written communication and presentation skills, and ability to effectively communicate analytical concepts and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences Strong collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to navigate through ambiguity Strong data management skills, and an understanding of data lifecycle, including data governance Nice-to-have Graduate Degree in a Quantitative Discipline Fraud Management experience Knowledge of Canadian banking and payment industry, payments and digital transaction data and financial fraud What’s in it for you?
